Ahane Lad (Imp) (Eire) had his last official race on the 8th of April 2006 at Shelbourne Park running a stunning 28.21 (fastest time in 2006) over the 525 yards when landing the Group 1 €50,000 Donal Reilly Easter Cup.

On the 29th of April he was given a solo trial at Cork in which he failed to finish due to smashing his hock.

Ahane Lad (Eire) is a son of the legendary Irish sire Larkhill Jo (Eire) and Daffodil Dance (Eire) ( Vintage Prince (Eire) x Wise Plan (Eire) ) from Pat Dalton's famous Maythorn Pride damline.

The 32kg Ahane Lad (Eire) contested all of his races over 525 yards and 550 yards and won 15 of his 30 race starts.

Daffodil Dance (Eire) is a full sister to Premier County (Eire) who is the sire of Shelbourne Park track record holder Premier Fantasy (Eire). His grandmother is a sister to the mother of Pacific Mile (Eire) who was sold for €100,000 after a couple of starts.
