Blue Gums has recently been acquired by Brian Youngman and Sue Marsh.
Blue Gums is situated in Neerim South, Gippsland, among undulating landscape and an eye-catching backdrop of tree-lined hills. Blue Gums provides an idyllic environment for greyhounds.
Blue Gums was the home of champion sprinter and sire Chariot Supreme.
Other canine headliners that have emanated from this prolific breeding and racing nursery include Shining Chariot, Light Of Fire and Awesome Assassin.
Brian and Sue are determined to see this proud tradition continue and given their history in greyhound husbandry will undoubtedly succeed. Sue and Brian have bred, reared and owned greyhounds the calibre of ;
- Excite Ability (winner 2002 G1 Melbourne Cup; runner-up 2002 G1 Topgun and 2003 G1 Adelaide Cup)
- Audrey Elaine (2001 Warragul GOTY; third in 2001 & 2002 G3 Warragul Cups) and
- Brandy Creek Ram (Finalist 2002 G3 Cranbourne Cup).
Blue Gums is undergoing an extensive refurbishment. It has ;
- 18 race kennels
- 22 x 200 metre runs
- 5 whelping kennels
- 8 puppy yards
- approximately 20 holding yards
It also has a Bullring, 400m Straight Track and Box Works which are all available for client's use.
Sue and Brian take a totally professional stance and treat all clients’ greyhounds like our own.
They are only fed the best quality meat & science diet, given a monthly worming and flea baths. All puppies are handled and lead trained.
