She won at The Gardens 515m running a slick 29.67 BON. She also won there over the 600m running 34.97 BON and won over 515m at Gosford in 30.01 BOB. Marina's Best won over distances ranging from from 413m to 600m.

Smokey Melody is a maternal sister of champion racebitch Junoesque who won the Group 1 National Futurity and Ladies Bracelet and over $100,000 in prize money ( which was a lot of money in 1999/2000 ).
Junoesque won the Group 1 National Futurity in a race record time of 29.95 secs at a time when the 30 second barrier was rarely tested. She was also unlucky not to win the 2000 Golden Easter Egg Final.
Junoesque has gone on to become one of Australia's top producers. She was the dam of Brett Lee's first Group winner in a bitch called Infinite Beauty, as well as Elite State's first Group winner in Mozilla.
