Droopy's Puzzle comes from a 100% winning litter, and is superbly bred with the Droopy Sandy (Eire) outcross and the Magnacarter dam line - which has produced Golden Easter Egg winners, a Sapphire Classic winner, and Queensland Greyhound of the Year Black Enforcer. Droopy's Puzzle broke-in at Tooradin Trial Track as a l2-month-old pup running brilliant times. After breaking-in, he was taken back at 14 flonths and at his first run back out of the boxes as an overweight pup (the record then was first split 6.39 / second split 11.10) he ran 6.39 equal record / second split 11.11, and 21.52 overall. An offer of $22,000 was rejected. He was then taken to Traralgon for his first look box to box and trialled 5.44, 16.77. Another substantial offer was declined. Droopy's Puzzle won his first race start at Warragul, a Maiden heat, and ran second to Tiny Milly in the final. He tore his back muscle badly, but still came back to win eight races, with six seconds and three thirds, from 2l starts, before breaking his hock at The Meadows. He won at Sandown Park, The Meadows, Warragul (24.07) and Geelong ( Race 11 - first look, recording 25.53 ), Traralgon (first 500-metre start - registering 29.75 ). Droopy's Puzzle ran these times with an injury that most dogs don't come back from and a vet stated the injury would be costing him up to five lengths. Droopy's Puzzle has an absolutely perfect conformation and temperament.
