A Brief History
Melbourne Saddler George Hagley formulated Penetrene Liniment in 1928. Mr Hagley was instrumental in the
formation of the Victorian Trotting Board and held the first meetings in his business establishment in
Hardware Lane Melbourne.
Known as an expert in his field of manufacturing Trotting gear George also contributed articles to American trotting Journals.
George Hagley passed away in Melbourne at age 75 and was laid to rest at Fawkner Cemetery.
George's obituary appeared in the Australian Trotting Board Journal in August 1943.
How it Works
Penetrene A acts as a rubefacient, stimulating blood circulation to muscles, ligaments and
tendons underlying the area of application. The active ingredients of Penetrene A stimulates blood circulation to
muscles, ligaments and tendons, promoting natural healing, whilst a mild antiseptic and analgesic effect is
also achieved.
What Is It Used For
Penetrene A liniment can be used to help maintain the animal's muscular system by applying both
before and after training. Combined with rest Penetrene A enhances natural repair and reduces internal scarring
without the use of anti-inflammatory drugs.
Application
The recommended method of treatment is to apply liniment to damp cotton wool and then bandage around the
affected area.
In cases of sprains and strains, foment the affected part with hot water and dry thoroughly. Massage in well.
Apply three times a day for three to four days, then once a day and at night.
Can be used as a leg wash or muscle wash.
Do not apply to damaged skin.
