RUM BANDIT demonstrated an abundance of early pace by running the following sectionals :
- 6.32 at Shepparton when beating Laurels winner HAIL A HARLEY by 6.5 lengths in 24.65.
- 9.42 at Warragul in one of his two wins ( in 23.93 and 23.98 ) without trialling at the track.
- 6.66 at Geelong when the fastest heat winner of the AWM Geelong Guineas running 25.51. He went on to win the final in
25.61 beating MODERN ASSASIN and RIVERLEE BALE.
- 6.39 at Bendigo.
- 5.11 and 19.00 in 1 of his 7 wins at Sandown which included wins in 29.72, 29.85 and 29.93.
In addition RUM BANDIT defeated CARLISLE JACK in the Bendigo Puppy Classic running 24.13.
RUM BANDIT is from a talented litter which included ;
- RED MOLONY - 14 wins which included Sandown in 29.82 and 29.90 and Ballarat in 25.28 and 25.34.
- MICKY FLICK - 19 wins which included Sandown in 30.01, Warragul in 24.08 and Geelong in 25.55 and 25.59.
His first litter to ACTIVE ON ACES( 24 starts for 3 wins ) produced ;
- ACTIVE BANDIT - winner of 10 races including Sandown 30.05, 30.08 and 30.09.
- MICK'S STAR - winner at Sandown in 30.55
while his third litter to SANDALLE ROSE( 60 starts for 7 wins ) produced ;
- SKYE TIME - winner of 2 races and placed twice from 5 starts. Won maiden at Ballarat in 25.57.
- IRISH RUM - 2 starts. Won maiden at Hobart and 1 length off BON.
